LET’S TALK ABOUT SOMETHING CALLED THOUGHT ERRORS:

THOUGHT ERRORS ARE THOUGHTS THAT WE’VE HABITUALLY HAD IN OUR BRAINS FROM THE PAST & ARE NOT GETTING US THE RESULTS WE WANT.

These are those thoughts that get delegated down to the more survival parts of our brain & are running on auto-pilot in the back ground.

HAVE YOU EVER NOTICED SOME OF THESE THOUGHT ERRORS?

I’ve tried so many “diets” in the past. Nothing ever works.

I can’t do this.

Delicious food is life.

I know what I should be doing. I’m just so tired. I can’t do it.

Life is boring if you can’t eat everything you want.

I doubt I can change.

WATCH THESE THOUGHTS LIKE A HAWK FRIEND! AND THEN SHINE A LIGHT OF COMPASSIONATE AWARENESS ON THEM!
THEN THERE’S THE NEXT LEVEL:

WE START TO JUDGE OURSELVES FOR SOME OF THOSE THOUGHT ERRORS.

After we start to see the thought errors, it’s really normal for our brain to start on the next level and look for whats wrong. 

Dr. Daniel Amen, calls this ANTS or Automatic Negative Thoughts. Other experts call it the negativity bias of the brain. These thoughts are the thoughts we just default to & don’t think to question if they are serving us to have access to our best selves or if we want to keep them!!!  This is normal. 


OUR BRAIN STARTS TELLING US THINGS LIKE:

I’m smart. I should have figured this out by now.

I know better than to mistreat myself by overeating.

How could I let myself gain all this weight?

Something must be wrong with me?

Something must be wrong with my inner character?

I’m unlovable.

I’m not enough.

WATCH THESE JUDGMENTAL THOUGHT ERRORS & “ANTS” LIKE A HAWK TOO.

This next layer beating ourselves up/berating ourselves/self-shaming ourselves only cause the tendency to want to numb & distract ourselves (with food, Facebook, IG, shopping etc.).

Let me ask you these questions:

Sister!!! WOULD YOU TALK TO YOUR FRIEND OR YOUR NIECE OR NEPHEW IN ANY OF THOSE THOUGHT ERROR OR “ANT” THOUGHT WAYS?

WOULD YOU TALK TO A CHILD YOU LOVE SO DEARLY THAT WAY?!
THEN STOP TALKING TO YOURSELF THAT WAY!
